Kyle Peters to Miss Remainder 2024-25 AMA Arenacross Season Due to Neck Injury
Five-time consecutive and defending AMA Arenacross Champion Kyle Peters announced today via Instagram that he has opted to pull out for the remainder of the 2025 season after a hard landing in round 4 at Boise caused another neck injury requiring upcoming surgery.
A 2022 injury nearly ended Peters' career, requiring six vertebrae to be fused from C4 to T1, but he recovered to win the 2023 and 2024 championships.
The North Carolina native plans to have surgery and recover from this injury to return to racing in the future. This injury will break his consecutive five-championship streak in AMA Arenacross while chasing that sixth this season.
During Round 4 of Boise AX, I reinjured my neck and have now opted to pull out of the 24-25 season. I still have a lot of numbness in my left side and after careful deliberation with doctors, friends, family & my team I have decided to pull out of this season in order to have surgery and recover. Decisions like this don’t come easy, but without my health I can’t do what I love which is ride my dirt bike. Thank you to everyone in my corner, my amazing team and everyone that makes this happen, including the fans that have supported me these past years through 5 amazing championship wins. This isn’t goodbye forever, just a bump in the road that we will overcome and come back better from. - Kyle Peters via Instagram
