King Charles' coronation: Kate pays tribute to Diana with subtle detail in outfit

Kate paid tribute to the late Queen and Princess Diana.

Princess Kate has wowed fans with her gorgeous outfit for King Charles' coronation, an ivory silk crepe dress by one of her go-to designers, Alexander McQueen.

The Princess of Wales' sleek cream-coloured dress was covered in silver embroidery with a nod to the four nations of Great Britain; rose (England), thistle (Scotland), daffodil (Wales) and shamrock (Northern Ireland) motifs were all detailed in the thread work.

Princess Charlotte's dress matched her mother's and was also created by Alexander McQueen.

Kate wore a banded headpiece by Jess Collett and Alexander McQueen with coordinating silver bullion, crystal and silver thread work three-dimensional leaf embroidery.

Charlotte’s band is in the same floral style as her mother’s, continuing their co-ordinating style, and the pair both swept their brunette locks into matching low plaited buns.

Kate paid tribute to Princess Diana with her jewellery. donning the late princess' pearl earrings which she wore on many occasions.

Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales is reported to have worn 'The George VI Festoon Necklace' at some point during the coronation proceedings, however we are yet to see pictures of her with it on. The diamond necklace belonged to the late Queen.

Prince Harry will have less of a role in King Charles' coronation than his youngest nephew Prince Louis.

The Order of Service has revealed William and Kate's son Louis, five, will appear alongside his siblings, Prince George, nine, and Princess Charlotte, eight, during the ceremony.

The Sun reports Louis will take part in the Procession of The King and Queen, Camilla, from Westminster Abbey alongside his sister after the two-hour ceremony.

Meanwhile, George, who is one of the King's Pages of Honour, will become the youngest future king to have a major role in a coronation.

George, Charlotte and Louis will also ride and wave to crowds in a carriage behind the Gold State Coach of the King and Queen during the 2km Coronation Procession to Buckingham Palace.

Unlike Prince Harry, Louis will also make an appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony with his parents and siblings.

Kate updated royal fans during a walk in central London, sharing the children have taken part in rehearsals, "Having done a few, [rehearsals], I think everyone is a bit more relaxed."
