Kim Kardashian Reveals How Her Relationship With North Has Changed Since Kanye West Divorce

Kim Kardashian's divorce from Kanye West wasn't just a difficult experience for her—all four of her kids were affected by their split, with her oldest, North West, experiencing more intense emotions than her siblings. But according to the SKIMS founder, West's attitude towards her has finally come around.

"The craziest thing happened. Tell me if this happened with Mason," Kim said to her sister Kourtney in the February 27 episode of The Kardashians. "North is like obsessed with me now and calls me with her friends like, ‘Mom I love you, you’re the best mom. I love you so much.'"

Kourtney explained that North has "always been like that with me," but wondered, "Do you think you've changed?" After pondering the question, the 44-year-old said it was a possibility, but that North's attitude “was a year of like mad at me."

Kourtney then noted that the attitude adjustment wasn't merely a coincidence, and reminded Kim that she and Kanye got a divorce during this time.

"I think it was all the divorce," Kim concluded. "It’s insane the turnaround."

Earlier this season, Kardashian spoke about her and West's divorce while talking to her sister Khloé about her previous split from Lamar Odom. "That’s the hardest part. I’ve been there," Kim told her. "When you don’t foresee something happening that really changes a person’s personality and then they’re not the same person and you can’t ever get that person back, but you can’t live with the new person. I get it."

Kim reflected on her split from West in a confessional, and revealed that "it’s tougher when you don’t want your marriage to end off of personal reasons but circumstances change that force your marriage to end," she said. "When you weren’t planning on that and that’s not really the outcome you want but there’s no other option, I think it makes it harder to get over."

After seven years of marriage, Kim filed for divorce from West in 2021 and finalized the divorce a year later. In the time since their split, both have continued to date—Kim is currently single, while Kanye is married to Bianca Censori.

Opening up about her decision to leave West in a 2022 interview with Vogue, Kim said, "For so long, I did what made other people happy, and I think in the last two years I decided, I'm going to make myself happy. And that feels really good. And even if that created changes and caused my divorce, I think it's important to be honest with yourself about what really makes you happy. I've chosen myself. I think it's okay to choose you."
