Yahoo Lifestyle Here’s Why People Are “Emotional” After Seeing Kim Kardashian’s Resurfaced Letter To Her Future Self For 2025
Back in 2015, Kim Kardashian sat down with Glamour magazine to outline her hopes and dreams for her future self.
At the time, Kim was 34, married to Kanye “Ye” West, and mom to then-2-year-old North.
Of course, Kim now has three more kids alongside 11-year-old North: Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, who are 9, 6, and 5, respectively.
Kim filed to end her and Ye’s marriage in February 2021, and their divorce was finalized almost two years later.
Now that it’s 2025, Kim’s decade-old letter has resurfaced online.
“Dear Kim, when you read this, you'll be 10 years older in the year 2025. I hope this is where you are,” Kim began in the video.
“When it comes to how you'll feel about your body, remember to be kind to yourself and enjoy how you look now because you're not getting any younger,” said Kim, who was pregnant with Saint at the time.
“Since North is now 12, I hope you remember that pre-teens are going through a lot. I know junior high is really tough, so remember to have a lot of patience,” she continued.
Kim went on to share her hopes for her sisters. “I hope Khloé finds her happily ever after and falls madly in love because she really deserves it. I hope Kourtney is maybe done with having babies. She has a lot on her plate, and I know she doesn't want to stop anytime soon. I hope Kendall will continue to be modeling and doing whatever she loves to do and Kylie better just be doing whatever she wants because she's not usually one to take any direction,” she said.
In 2015, Khloé was in the process of ending her tumultuous marriage with Lamar Odom. She temporarily called off the divorce after he suffered a drug overdose in October that year, though things were ultimately finalized in 2016.
Khloé then moved on with NBA player Tristan Thompson, whom she now shares two kids with, although his infidelity repeatedly dogged their on-again, off-again relationship.
Meanwhile, Kourtney actually ended up welcoming her fourth child, Rocky, toward the end of 2023. Rocky is Kourtney’s first child with her husband, Travis Barker, and she has three more kids with her ex Scott Disick.
Elsewhere in her Glamour video, Kim made it clear that she hoped to remain “the queen of contouring” a decade on and that she hoped science would “invent a mysterious and delicious green juice to keep [her] tan forever.”
“We both know that there are always so many haters out there, and I just hope that you can continue to ignore them and focus on everything positive,” she said before adding, “Call mom every single day.”
“Are you still filming Keeping Up with the Kardashians? Are you still decorating our dream home? Are selfies still a thing? Are the terms ‘bae' and ‘on fleek' so 2015? If not, am I still ‘on fleek?’” she questioned.
KUWTK might’ve come to an end, but of course, the Kar/Jenners are still doing reality TV. In fact, the Season 6 trailer of their self-titled Hulu series just dropped on YouTube!
Finally, Kim hilariously told her future self, “If you haven't broken the 100 billion mark on Instagram followers, I will be very disappointed in you.”
Reacting to the resurfaced letter now, several Kardashian fans were left emotional at some of Kim’s comments.
“Why did the Khloé part make me sad?” one person wrote, while another echoed, “The Khloe part is hurtful.”
“This made me feel so emotional,” one TikTok user said. Someone else commented, “This made me feel old.”
“As ridiculous as this is, tell me why I felt a little something in my eye with the ‘call Mom every day’ line?” another user said.
Meanwhile, several people couldn’t help but laugh at Kim’s comments about Kourtney having kids.
“Kourtney having a baby currently is sending me into orbit,” one person said. “Kourtney was not done with having babies,” another wrote.
