Kentucky Sheriff’s Office Welcomed 15 Babies Within a Year: ‘We’re Growing in More Than One Way’
"We knew that a lot of our deputies were having children. But man, when you look at that picture, it really puts it into some perspective," said Major Philip Ridgell
A baby boom just hit a Kentucky sheriff's office.
Fifteen employees at the Boone County Sheriff's Office in Burlington, Ky., welcomed babies this past year.
A photo on Facebook of all of the staffers and their children has gone viral since it was published on Tuesday, April 30. The picture has earned over 2,000 likes and 300 comments and was shared by more than 260 users.
“We’re growing in more than one way. BCSO Baby Boom, circa 2023,” read the caption.

According to Good Morning America, photographer Kyla Scudder with Kyla Mae Photography wanted to thank the officers for their service and offered to photograph the deputies, sergeants and supervisors holding their babies.
Scudder also published the photo on her Instagram profile and added a caption thanking the sheriff’s office for the opportunity.
“What an incredible opportunity it was to do this session. So thankful I got this opportunity & what a privilege it is to serve the ones who do so much for us. 💙🖤,” she wrote.

The photo was the "brainchild" of the Boone County Sheriff's Auxiliary and features babies born in 2022 and 2023, public information officer Philip Ridgell told GMA.
"We knew that a lot of our deputies were having children. But man, when you look at that picture, it really puts it into some perspective," Ridgell said.
Although 15 families grew over the past year, Ridgell said the group of new parents is just a small portion of the sheriff's office. The Boone County Sheriff's Office has around 180 deputies across several divisions.
"Our agency is made up of men and women who have deep ties to the community," he told GMA. "Oftentimes, many of them were born and raised here and we're more committed and more now than one way, to this county and ensuring its safety."
