Chesney's story begins with a childhood built on foundation of sports, church, community and music, within a home anchored by a single mother and extended family. He was gifted a guitar in his freshman year, and combined with his university's traditional country music program, he discovered "a passion no one saw coming."

The book captures the essence of "a Nashville that no longer exists," where aspiring artists flourish from nearly impossible dreams. This is the backdrop against which Chesney learned to embrace and hone his stage presence, whether he was performing at the smallest venue or the largest, leading to his extraordinary feat of playing for over one million fans every summer since 2002.

“This is not my memoir, but something far better," Chesney said. "It is almost a love letter to people who shaped and inspired me, the fans who’ve been there from tiny bars, radio stations who believed when nobody else did, a team who just kept coming back, legends who gave me wisdom and opportunities and all the friends who’ve been there along the way."

He continued, "To me, that’s where the music came from – and this is the story of how it turned into the soundtrack for the way No Shoes Nation lives their lives, too.”
