Keith Urban Delivers ‘Hauntingly Beautiful’ Performance at 2024 PCCAs

Keith Urban fans were thrilled when the country crooner took the stage for his 2024 People's Choice Country Awards performance on Thursday, Sept. 26.

Urban, 56, performed an emotional rendition of his new song “MESSED UP AS ME,” which he first released as a single in March. The song was also included on his new album HIGH, which the four-time Grammy Award winner dropped last week.

Viewers immediately took to social media to heap praise on the performance, with one boldly declaring that the "Somebody Like You" singer "never disappoints."

“Stunning rendition of Messed Up As Me,” one person wrote on X, formerly Twitter, as another agreed it was "hauntingly beautiful."

“Keith Urban nails it again. Solo and guitar. Amazing song. TALENT shows,” an X user gushed.

Urban “is one of the few artists who can pull off a performance like this," one fan said as another simply called him "perfection." The awards show itself seemed to agree, with the official PCCA's Instagram account dubbing Urban a "Legend" when it shared a photo from his performance on Instagram.

Urban's praise-generating performance followed last week's release of his official music video for "MESSED UP AS ME." Fans similarly had kind words for that project, with some noting at the time of its release that the emotion behind the video "speaks volumes."

While Urban wasn't nominated for any awards this year, his most recent accomplishments might earn him a nod the next time around. On Sept. 20, the Australian musician released his 11th studio album, HIGH, which he announced in an Instagram post.

"This album is the result of a prior record I started in 2022," Urban wrote in his caption.

"It’s 40 minutes top to bottom, and is completely expressive, true, honest and is so much more of what I actually wanted to say when making that scrapped record," he continued. "I hope these songs bring you joy, levity, some new understanding, energy, and escape!"
