Will & Kate, in wax!

As their first anniversary approaches, Prince William and Kate Middleton have been immortalised - in wax!

The royal couple's wax figures were unveiled at Madame Tussauds in New York on Wednesday. A spokesperson for the wax museum told People Magazine that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been actively involved in the preparation of their replicas.

According to a press release: "Madame Tussauds shares a close relationship with the British Royal Family dating back to William IV, who was King when the first attraction opened in London in 1835. The current Queen has been modeled by the attraction over 20 times and has given the studio team six personal sittings over the years."

Prince William's statue is wearing a two-piece tuxedo, while Middleton's wax figure dons a replica of the Alexander McQueen gown she wore at the BAFTA Brits to Watch event last year paired with Jimmy Choo sandals and her diamond and sapphire engagement ring.

The wax figure unveiling comes as sources reveals that although Middleton is not pregnant yet, the royals are ready to have a baby. An insider told People Magazine that seeing their friends become parents has encouraged the Duke and Duchess to have a child and that 'they will let nature and life take its course'.
