Fresh from her jaw-dropping turn in an emerald green frock on the Royal Variety Performance red carpet, the Duchess of Cambridge was back to business on a school visit in London.
Kate, 39, continued the jewel tone theme for her outing to Nower Hill High School on Wednesday, sporting a ruby-hued coat and jumper combo.
She paired her statement-making outerwear with black trousers and suede stilettos and arrived just 15 minutes after the high schoolers were told she was on her way.
The royal surprised students by joining a science class where the lesson was on neuroscience and the importance of early childhood development.
"I never thought she would do that!" headteacher Louise Voden said of Kate's involvement in the Year 8 class of pupils aged 12 and 13.

"It's a real passion of mine, learning about babies' brains, about how our adult brains develop and how our early childhood influences the adults we become," the duchess told the students.
"Keep thinking about it, keep talking about it with your friends. Well done, I'm super impressed. Thank you for having me today," she added.
Early childhood development is a topic close to Kate's heart. She's spent the last decade focusing on understanding and highlighting those crucial first few years in a child's life and, back in June, she launched The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.
Royal fans on Instagram were quick to applaud the duchess' school visit in the comments, with one user dubbing her "the best Duchess".
"Once again highlighting worthy causes," added another, while a third wrote, "Your work in this field is so worthwhile".
