Kate Middleton Skips White-Tie Event at Buckingham Palace Attended by Prince William and King Charles
The royals held yet another fancy event at Buckingham Palace last night (it’s...their thing, I guess), but Kate Middleton was not in attendance. The white-tie Diplomatic Corps Reception was attended by Prince William, Queen Camilla, and King Charles—the latter of whom showed up in what appear to be knee socks.
FYI, the Princess of Wales has attended this event in years past. Here she is looking more regal than ever back in 2023:
It’s unclear why Kate skipped this year’s event, but she made it clear on Instagram back in September that she’ll be taking a slower approach to life in the public eye, saying, “Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes. I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.”
In June, an Us Weekly source said, Kate’s team had been “reevaluating what she’s going to be able to take on when she comes back” and noted that she “may never come back in the role that people saw her in before. Her role may look very different. She’s looking at what it will shape into.”
