“Karen made the important decision to enter a private recovery program, so was unable to attend the reunion taping today. She was fully supported in this choice,” Huger’s manager Ryan Tresdale told Bravo’s The Daily Dish. “We stand behind Karen as she embarks on this meaningful journey and are proud of her for taking such a significant step forward in her personal growth.”
PREVIOUSLY: Karen Huger has seemingly skipped The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9 reunion after she was found guilty of DUI charges.
Bravo released the seating chart for the reunion special, and Huger was notably missing, ending speculation about her appearance.
Sitting closest to host Andy Cohen were Gizelle Bryant and Mia Thornton, followed by Ashley Darby and Wendy Osefo. At the end of the couches and furthest from Cohen were Stacey Rusch and Keiarna Stewart.
Huger is facing real-life consequences for driving under the influence as she was found guilty on five out of six charges following a March 2024 incident that involved a car crash. The Grande Dame was convicted of DUI, negligent driving, failure to control speed to avoid a collision, and failure to notify authorities of an address change, according to a report from Fox5 DC, who also noted that she was acquitted of reckless driving.
Huger’s DUI incident loomed throughout Season 9 of RHOP, but the reality TV personality was limited in what she could say as it was an ongoing case. Although Huger’s co-stars tried to press her for more details, she maintained the truth would eventually be revealed. With Huger not showing up for the reunion, her co-stars will not have an opportunity to face her, following her conviction.
The court has set sentencing for January 29, during which Huger will find out if she will face jail time, which some estimate could be up to two years.
“Although we are disappointed in the jury’s verdict, we, of course, respect their decision and appreciate their time hearing our case,” Huger’s lawyer, A. Scott Bolden, said in a statement to People. “We continue to reserve Mrs. Huger’s right to an appeal and intend to fully pursue justice on her behalf. We appreciate your support and prayers for Mrs. Huger and her family at this time.”
Following Huger’s conviction, police body cam footage was released on social media, showing the severity of the incident.
Huger’s no-show at the RHOP Season 9 reunion doesn’t mean she’s forever banished from ever returning to the show. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary M. Cosby skipped the Season 2 reunion to avoid scrutiny from her fellow cast members. Cosby didn’t return for Season 3 but returned as a “friend of” in Season 4 and as a full-time cast member in Season 5.
