Kaitlin Olson Is a Cleaning Lady with a Knack for Crime Solving in First “High Potential” Trailer (Exclusive)

In a trailer for the new ABC series, Olson stars as a mom-of-three who forms an "unusual and unstoppable partnership" with a detective

As a single mom of three who works as a cleaning lady by night, Kaitlin Olson seems like an unlikely partner in crime for a detective — but she's got a gift.

In the first trailer for High Potential, which PEOPLE can exclusively premiere, Olson plays Morgan, a woman who somehow finds herself working with the police after she accidentally reveals her knack for crime-solving.

The trailer begins with Morgan jamming out to No Doubt's "Hella Good" as she gets to work cleaning the police department's office. While cleaning the floors, she knocks over a box of photos related to an unsolved crime and within seconds, she can deduce that the police have the wrong woman identified as a suspect.

The next morning, Detective Karadec (Daniel Sunjata) asks the office, "Who changed our board? Who did this?" referring to Morgan's handiwork: she crossed out "suspect" and replaced it with "victim."

After reviewing security camera footage, Karadec, Daphne (Javicia Leslie) and Selena (Judy Reyes) realize that their dancing cleaning lady is behind the change. "Who the hell is this?" Karadec asks as he watches Morgan at work.

Morgan is then brought into Selena's office, who warns her, "Tampering with a criminal crime is a serious crime."

"If I see a mistake, I need to correct it," Morgan admits, prompting Selena to hand her over the case's full file and ask, "What mistakes did you see?"

Morgan then shares the crucial detail that was left unnoticed by detectives — the victim's wrist had no "marks" from supposedly being restrained by his curtain cord, as she concludes that "it wasn't him who was tied up."

"We could use someone with your talents," Selena tells Morgan, who is anything but eager.

"Me? Work with cops?" she says with a laugh.

However, Morgan is a single mom of three — and partnering with the police could offer her a way out of her cleaning lady lifestyle. "Mom's gonna solve the case, and then she'll never have to scrub other people's toilets and we'll live happily ever after," she tells her son.

As she joins the ranks, creating an "unusual and unstoppable partnership" with Karadec, who is described as a "by-the-book seasoned detective," Morgan's abilities begin to seriously benefit the police — but not everyone is so convinced.

"You see a cleaning lady, I see more," Selena says after she's asked why the "cleaning lady" is rearranging crime scene boards. "Morgan is a high-potential intellectual. She has advanced cognitive abilities."

Her partner, though, still has his doubts, as Morgan brings her baby in a stroller to a crime scene, asks if interrogations really use the "good cop bad cop" method and takes selfies during a press conference in the trailer.

"What is she supposed to do?" Karadec asks, to which Selena replies that Morgan can "spot the things my detectives miss."

While things eventually get smoother between Karadec and his unlikely partner, romance is strictly off the table (supposedly).

As the trailer ends, a man assumes that the partners just got married, to which Morgan says "no," "nope" and then "absolutely not" at the question of her and Karadec dating or being romantically involved at all.

High Potential also stars Deniz Akdeniz as Lev “Oz” Ozdil, Amirah J as Morgan's daughter Ava and Matthew Lamb as Elliot. Ken Marino, Eliza Coupe, Nasim Pedrad and JD Pardo will also join as guest stars, PEOPLE can exclusively reveal, alongside the previously announced Taran Killam and Garret Dillahunt in the series, which was written by The Good Place's Drew Goddard
