Justin Timberlake Returning to SNL for First Time in Almost 10 Years

Justin Timberlake will bring it on down to Studio 8H on Jan. 27 (NBC, 11:30/10:30c), marking his first appearance on Saturday Night Live since 2015.

Timberlake, who often pulls double duty on SNL, will serve as solely the musical guest for host Dakota Johnson, who is promoting her new movie Madame Web. This marks Johnson’s second time hosting SNL; her first was in 2015, with musical guest Alabama Shakes.

The former *NSYNC frontman first performed alongside his bandmates in a 2000 episode hosted by Dawson’s Creek’s Joshua Jackson. He then returned solo as the host and musical guest in 2003, 2006 and 2013. He also hosted in 2009 with musical guest Ciara, and in 2011 with musical guest Lady Gaga. His most recent SNL appearance was as the musical guest for host Jimmy Fallon in 2013, though he did pop up on the show’s 40th anniversary special in 2015:

Before Timberlake and Johnson take the SNL stage, however, we still have the Jan. 20 episode — hosted by Saltburn‘s Jacob Elordi, with musical guest Reneé Rapp — to look forward to. The show will also air a new episode on Feb. 3, though a host and musical guest have yet to be announced.
