Julia Fox Debuts Major Hair Transformation and You'll Never Guess Who Her Inspiration Was

Julia Fox is giving androgynous '80s rocker with her latest haircut, which she DIY'd herself ahead of the New York City premiere of her upcoming film Presence, though that's not exactly what she was going for.

The model and mom of one maintained her platinum blonde coloring, but took a pair of kitchen shears to her luscious long locks to bring the length up to the base of her neck.

“I like cut off all of my hair the other day, and then I just kept going. And now we’re here,” she told Page Six at the premiere, which was held at the AMC Lincoln Square on Thursday, Jan. 16.

She confidently denied any nerves surrounding the big change, adding, “It was a long time coming, I’ve been wanting to do it for a long time. And you know, sometimes in life, you just gotta take the plunge and do it. It’ll grow back, it’s just hair.”

While chatting with the outlet, Fox also shared the unconventional inspiration behind her styled coif, which gives off a bit of a greaser vibe, and we have a feeling you'll never guess who it is.

“I was going for Ace Ventura, like sleazy guy," she said, referencing Jim Carrey's classic 1994 character, who rocks hair of a similar length styled up into more of a bouffant. "I don’t know, I’m just into that right now.”

While Fox is fond of the style now, she suggested that she "immediately regretted it" in a video uploaded to TikTok earlier this week, using the popular "I'm not gonna do it, girl, I was just thinking about it" sound to document the before and after, concluding with, "I did it," as she showed off the big chop.

She may have felt some gentle insecurity at first, but fans were quick to compliment the new length, with one suggesting she was "Giving David Bowie," and another assuring her, "...you look good in everything pls."
