Jonathan Owens Shares Cute Photo of Wife Simone Biles Photoshopped into the Louvre After History-Making Gold Medal
The Chicago Bears player joked he "walked past some history" while at the Louvre Museum in Paris
Simone Biles’ husband Jonathan Owens is having some fun with his wife’s latest achievement.
The Chicago Bears athlete, 29, shared a photo of himself at the Louvre Museum to his Instagram Story on Thursday, Aug. 1, standing beneath a funny addition to the famed museum’s walls.
In the photo, Owens stood beneath various works of art, including a picture of Biles, 27, in mid-air during Olympics qualifiers on July 28 in Paris, which he Photoshopped into a golden frame.
“Walked past some history in the Louvre today,” he captioned the photo, adding a laughing crying emoji and a flame emoji.
Biles made history on Tuesday when she earned her eighth medal in the women’s team final, making her the most-decorated U.S. Olympic gymnast of all time.
In another Instagram Story post, Owens showed off a pen featuring the Louvre’s prized possession, the Mona Lisa, which he's using to take notes as Biles competes in the women’s all-around final at Bercy Arena on Thursday.
Owens has been in Paris for the last few days to cheer on Biles, whom he married last year after three years of dating.
In a photo he shared to Instagram after she and her U.S. teammates won the team final, the athlete posed with Biles while wearing a shirt featuring her name and face on it. In the photo, he smiled wide as he wore the gold medal she earned on Tuesday.
“Witnessing history every time you step on the mat 😍🔥 Congrats baby on becoming the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history!!!!” he captioned his post. “Just wow!!!! 8 of them!!!!! So thankful i was there to see it ❤️🤍💙”
In another photo, he and Biles shared a kiss as he showed off her hard-earned medal.
Biles shared her appreciation for her husband in the comment section. “My whole heart. I love you ❤️❤️❤️❤️,” she wrote. “Means the world you’re here.”
Owens made sure to make it to Paris to support his wife, and even negotiated time off from NFL training camp when he signed with the Chicago Bears earlier this year.
The NFL player opened up to PEOPLE earlier this month about his excitement for the Olympic Games, and praised Biles’ work ethic.
“I love watching [it] from an athlete's perspective because that's how you'd be great in any sport, is just being consistent and doing the same thing consistently good every day," he said. "You know what I mean? I love to watch it and I love to be out there and be a cheerleader.”
