John Mulaney reveals new talk show 'Everybody's Live,' cracks brutal Harry and Meghan joke

John Mulaney is staying in the talk show game.

During a Wednesday event previewing Netflix's 2025 slate, the comedian revealed details about his new talk show for the streamer, which will be titled "Everybody's Live with John Mulaney."

The series, a follow-up to last year's "Everybody's in L.A.," will air weekly for 12 consecutive weeks starting on March 12.

"This is a really fun experiment," Mulaney said, expressing uncertainty over the show's guests and format. "Not since Harry and Meghan has Netflix given more money to someone without a specific plan."

"Everybody's in L.A." aired live on Netflix for six days in May 2024, and mixed panel discussions with offbeat sketches and interviews with experts about California-centric subjects like coyotes. The show was tied to the Netflix is a Joke Festival and tapped several comedians who were in town for the event.

During Wednesday's presentation, Mulaney joked that he agreed to make "Everybody's in L.A." because "it was six nights and then it was over, and I love things that will be over."

"It was a total blast and it was one of those shows that neither Netflix nor I really needed to do," he quipped. "I never wanted to do a talk show, and they were getting out of the talk-show game, so it was the perfect moment to do this. As I just heard Robert F. Kennedy Jr. say in his confirmation hearing, 'I have a nice life and a happy family, I don't need this.'"

The comedian also jokingly promised "Everybody's Live" will "never be relevant" but will "always be reckless" and said it represents "Netflix's commitment to embracing the 20th century," as there's "absolutely nothing new about what I'm doing."

Richard Kind will return as Mulaney's announcer, and the delivery cart robot Saymo will also be back. Mulaney will continue to speak to celebrity guests and take calls from viewers on the show.

Netflix announced the return of Mulaney's talk show in October, extending its relationship with the comedian, and has released his standup specials "The Comeback Kid," "Kid Gorgeous" and "Baby J."
