Joe Kosterich
Q. What motivates you in your work?
There’s so much health information out there that it confuses people. My passion is using medical knowledge to make it easy for individuals to manage their own health. I want to help people understand that what they do each day matters, and that they can be healthy.
Q. What does being ‘healthy’ mean to you?
For me, being healthy means having the physical and mental energy to do what I want to do each day. It’s about balancing all the body’s needs: some slow deep breathing, the right amount of water, good nutrition, regular exercise and adequate sleep. Being healthy is also having good relationships and, last, but certainly not least, having some fun every day.
Q. What is your wellbeing wish for Australian women 40+?
This is a fantastic age for women. My wish is that they accept themselves; that they realise they have choices in life and and recognise the personal power they have to make healthy choices for themselves and their loved ones.
Q. What is it that excites you about being a part of Prevention?
Prevention magazine provides accurate, easy-to-understand health information. There is so much noise out there about health that people need unbiased, reliable information that they can understand and, most important, use in their life. My aim is to cut through the clutter and Prevention magazine sits perfectly with this.
