Congratulations are in order for President Joe Biden after welcoming a new addition to his family.
During a Los Angeles press conference about the California fires on Wednesday, Jan. 8, Biden revealed that his granddaughter, Naomi Biden, welcomed her first child with her husband, Peter Neal, as NBC News reported.
“The good news is, I’m a great-grandfather as of today,” Biden announced, following a briefing from California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection officials.

He added that Naomi—the daughter of Hunter Biden and his ex-wife, Kathleen Buhle—gave birth to "a 10-pound, four-ounce baby girl"—though he immediately corrected himself, saying, "baby boy."
Before speaking with reporters, Biden stopped by Cedar-Sinai Hospital, where he spent about 40 minutes getting to know his new great-grandson, according to People. He was joined by first lady Jill Biden and Hunter, along with Hunter's current wife, Melissa Cohen Biden, and his son Beau Jr. (named after his late brother, the president's eldest son).
The president and first lady shared the first photo of their great-grandson on Instagram in a post revealing the little boy's name.
In a sweet pic posted on Wednesday afternoon, Joe held the infant in his arms while Jill adjusted the newborn's hat.
"We are proud to introduce you to our great-grandson: William Brannon Neal, IV," the caption read.
Biden opened up about William's impending arrival in a recent interview with USA Today.

"I’m about to be a great-grandfather, Jesus God," he said.
"But Naomi...I’m going out to California. She’s due to have a cesarean on the 8th of January," he continued, adding, "God willing."
A graduate of Columbia Law, Naomi tied the knot with Peter in 2022 in a private ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House, the first wedding held there in almost a decade. She was walked down the aisle by both her father and her mother.
She initially announced her pregnancy on Nov. 5, Election Day, with a selfie on her Instagram Stories showing her baby bump decorated with a voting sticker.
