Jimmy Kimmel jokes“ Apprentice” star Sebastian Stan will 'have to go back' to Romania if Donald Trump wins presidency

"In this life… You gotta have an honest living. That’s the most important thing," Stan said.

Jimmy Kimmel is making sure The Apprentice star Sebastian Stan is keeping his options open in the event Donald Trump becomes president again.

The late-night host jokingly warned the actor — who plays a young Donald Trump in the controversial film — that he may need to leave the country if the former president wins the upcoming U.S. election in November. Stan, who was born in Romania, moved to New York at age 12.

“Do you still have citizenship in Romania?” Kimmel asked Stan during Wednesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. When he confirmed, the host added, “Okay, good, because you’re probably gonna have to go back there if he wins.”

Stan, in response, simply threw his hands up in the air and laughed. “Hey, you know what man?” he said. “In this life… You gotta have an honest living. That’s the most important thing.”

Earlier in their conversation, Stan recalled his "strange" experience moving to the U.S. at such a young age and discovering a whole new world. “I saw bananas for the first time, because we didn’t have bananas in Romania during communism,” he said. “Or palm trees! Which you didn’t see in New York.”

Kimmel later teased that if Trump does win, Stan would likely have to bid farewell to the fruit again, adding, “No more bananas for you!”

Directed by Ali Abbasi, The Apprentice follows a young Trump (Stan) as he teams up with lawyer Roy Cohn (Succession’s Jeremy Strong) to pave a new path forward for himself in the business sector of New York City in the 1970s. The film, which Trump’s campaign has floated potential legal action against, also stars Maria Bakalova as Trump’s late ex-wife Ivana Trump, Martin Donovan as Fred Trump, and Catherine McNally as Mary Anne Trump.

If anyone knows about being on Trump’s bad side, it’s Kimmel. The pair have been engaged in a war of words for years now, with Kimmel recently bringing his wife Molly McNearney into their feud, too.

She visited Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday to deliver a special message to the former president, telling him in part to “go to Mar-a-Lago" and “spend all day every day cheating at golf and masturbating to Newsmax and let a competent woman take over.”

The Apprentice hits theaters Oct. 11. Watch Kimmel and Stan talk about the film in the clip above.
