Jimmy Fallon Is Launching a New Haunted House at 30 Rock
Titled "Jimmy Fallon’s Tonightmares," the haunted maze will feature 10 rooms at NBCUniversal's headquarters and will run through Halloween
NBC is turning its iconic 30 Rockefeller Plaza building into a haunted house this October — and Jimmy Fallon is the face of the new attraction.
On Friday, Aug. 16, NBCUniversal announced that the team behind Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios theme parks has designed an all-new haunted house experience for fans, titled "Jimmy Fallon’s Tonightmares," according to a press release shared with PEOPLE.
The haunted maze is set to open in September and will feature "10 terrifying rooms" themed around the Tonight Show host's nightmares.
Produced in part by NBCUniversal’s Global Franchise Management group, the haunted maze will bring "the nightmares to life in a fully immersive haunt with terrifying sets, practical effects and scares behind every corner."
"Tonightmares has got everything you need to get supremely frightened this Halloween," Fallon said in a statement. "I'm not saying it has killer scarecrows, brain-hungry zombies and an abandoned gas station in the middle of nowhere. But… it has… killer scarecrows, brain-hungry zombies and an abandoned gas station in the middle of nowhere. Spoiler alert."
Fallon also announced the Halloween-centric event during The Tonight Show on Thursday, Aug. 15.
"A little backstory," he began. "So, down at Universal Studios Orlando, they do this thing every year called Halloween Horror Nights. They go all out for Halloween. Decorations, zombies walking around, crazy haunted houses. It's awesome."
"So I was thinking — we should do that here," Fallon continued during the episode. "We've been working on this for years. It's an all-new haunted maze, and it is frightening, and it is here at 30 Rock in midtown Manhattan."
According to the event website, the maze lasts about 10 minutes once inside, and attendees will have to "run from a deranged and diabolical mad scientist, malfunctioning murder robots, a terrifying werewolf, and other nightmarish creatures." The website also warns that the maze may not be appropriate for children under age 14.
Events like haunted mazes and the Halloween Horror Nights celebrations at NBCUniversal's theme parks have become significant for the company, David O’Connor, president of franchise management & brand strategy, added in a statement.
"Each year, we bring Halloween to life in new and exciting ways across NBCUniversal through Halloween-themed content and experiences," O'Connor said.

Ticket prices start at $36.90, and sales will begin on Aug. 22. The event is scheduled to run from Sept. 20 through Oct. 31, and tickets can be purchased at jimmyfallonstonightmares.com.
