Jill Biden Gets Fired up in Red Power Suit Ahead of Mexico’s Inauguration for President-Elect Claudia Sheinbaum

Jill Biden opted for a monochrome power suiting moment on Monday, wearing a fiery red look as she touched down in Mexico for the inauguration of Claudia Sheinbaum, the country’s first female president. For the occasion, Biden chose a tailored look in a deep red shade. The ensemble, courtesy of Theory, featured a single-breasted blazer paired with matching trousers, complemented by a red button-down shirt underneath.

Biden kept her accessories minimal, wearing only bold sunglasses, a brooch on her lapel and delicate earrings and a necklace. Red was an ideal color scheme for Biden, possibly paying sartorial homage to one of the three colors of Mexico’s flag — the others being white and green. Power suiting has been a major trend for women in politics and royal women in Europe. Throughout the last few months, Vice President Kamala Harris has demonstrated her proclivity for the trend, elevating power suiting moments by wearing designer looks like Chloé during the Democratic National Convention last August.
