‘If it were a boy and a girl, it would be a dream come true for them both.’
Well-connected Jessica – whose exclusive baby revelation has been acknowledged by major international news outlets including CNN, The Huffington Post and New York Magazine – has known Kate since they went to a Marlborough school together, and she attended the royal couple’s wedding reception.
Jessica previously told New Idea that the couple were planning to make their baby announcement in December – although Kate’s bout of severe morning sickness forced the duchess to confirm the news slightly earlier than she had planned.
‘Catherine would like a boy first and then a girl,’ Jessica previously told New Idea.
‘It seems very traditional, but of course they’ll be happy with two boys or two girls, they don’t want more.’

Whatever the outcome of the forthcoming royal birth, one thing is clear – the nannies will have to take a back seat.
‘They’ve agreed that they won’t employ nannies and will be very much hands-on,’ Jessica has said.
But with a possible multiple birth on the way, the best-laid plans may go out the window!
