Yahoo Lifestyle Jesse Watters Rates Luigi Mangione’s Hotness In A Study Of Stupidity
The panelists on Fox News’ “The Five” Wednesday argued over the physical attractiveness of Luigi Mangione, the suspect in the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. (Watch the video below.)
“I just don’t think the guy is that good-looking,” Jesse Watters said.
“I don’t either,” Dana Perino said. “His eyebrows are horrible.”
“I took a poll of my staff of females today and they said he was average,” Watters continued.
Amid growing disgust with the insurance industry, Mangione has become a warped cult hero to some and an object of romantic interest to others.
Even when the panelists got down to the possible psychology behind the twisted obsession with Mangione, the Fox News gang didn’t quite pull that off either. They played it mostly for laughs.
“What’s attractive about him is the vigilantism ... Women like the bad boy,” Watters said. “Now, I don’t know anything about women, so I had to call a few women to find out why, but they want to save the bad guy. Maybe Dana’s dated guys like this. ... But if you see damaged goods, women think that they can reform him and they can make him better if only they could get their hands on him and he’ll be all right.”
“I am definitely not like that... I want nothing to do with that,” Perino said.
“Dana doesn’t like the bad boys. More for you, judge,” Watters said in a nod to co-host Jeanine Pirro. “There’s also another part of this, too, because women like the fact that the guy had a mission, that the guy stood for something, because in this society, all these guys walking around, they don’t care about anything.”
“This guy stood for something in a social justice crusader kind of way, and for many women, that’s attractive, and I don’t understand it,” Watters continued.
“Come on, Jesse,” Pirro snapped.
Perino asserted that Daniel Penny, who was recently acquitted in the chokehold death of an agitated subway rider, was worthy of being called “attractive.”
Watters said, “You don’t think Daniel Penny is getting panties thrown at him every time he goes to the subway?”
