A moment of silence for all the fake nails the women lost during the basketball game on 'The Bachelor'

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: The women really left it all on the court during the basketball game — and by "all," I mean their nails. Please tell me that everyone was treated to emergency manicures back at the mansion.

JESSE PALMER: Post-game manicures were provided — but maybe just as important, so were post-game massages and maybe the odd ice bath. I’m still not sure if that was basketball they were playing or Brazilian jiu-jitsu!

After the chill vibes of night one, the "Can I steal you?" drama began this week on the first group date. Having witnessed a lot of these tense interactions, what advice would you give to women about how to handle it when their chats with the Bachelor are interrupted?

One reality that stands the test of time on The Bachelor is that you will have a chat interrupted at some point; therefore, I feel that if you are the “interrupter,” you should be ready for all types of reactions. The rest of the cast will be notified. You will be confronted. You will likely have your own one-on-one time interrupted in the future — probably by the “interruptee." This is one of the commandments of The Bachelor.

Find the candy store and hit the movie theatre (if the mall has one)!

Because Grant is a gentleman, he really wants all the women to be happy during this "journey," but inevitably, people's feelings are going to get hurt. Based on your conversations with him, how is he handling this so far?

I think Grant is very aware that feelings will inevitably get hurt along his journey — even if it’s unintentional. It’s simply unavoidable. The fact that Grant’s decisions carried a lot of weight and had the potential to hurt others was something that weighed on him throughout. The one thing Grant kept telling me was that he was going to follow his heart, and that’s all you can really do in his position.

Finally, on Rose Ceremony night, do you carry a butter knife around in your suit jacket so you can be ready to end the festivities at a moment's notice?

The butter knife is always at the ready. Sticking it in my suit pocket is the easy part. The hard part is carrying around a half drunken flute of champagne. There’s no pocket for that.

The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
