Jenna Bush Hager’s Latest ‘Today’ Guest Leaves Fans Wanting More: ‘Where Do I Sign?’
Today show viewers have so far appeared to be impressed by the lineup of guests and temporary co-hosts that Jenna Bush Hager has invited to join her on the popular NBC news show’s fourth hour.
Bush Hager, 43, launched her own new show, Today with Jenna & Friends, last month after her former co-host, Hoda Kotb, left Today with Hoda & Jenna. In the new program’s first few weeks, Bush Hager welcomed several actors and musicians onto the set as the show began taking shape.
Fans were particularly thrilled by the appearance of Scarlett Johansson, who joined Bush Hager as a temporary co-host. While many made pleas online for the Lost in Translation star to become Bush Hager’s permanent show partner, a similar request was made at the end of the month regarding another actress who appeared as a guest on Friday, Jan. 31.
While co-hosting Friday’s show with Ciara, Bush Hager welcomed Gilmore Girls star Lauren Graham onto the set to discuss her new show The Z-Suite, a forthcoming series about Gen Zers in the workplace. In a clip that Today with Jenna & Friends shared on Instagram, the Parenthood actress listed off a few examples she has heard regarding the kinds of reasons that some Gen Zers have cited while calling out of work—a tendency that she described as “the dark side” of Gen Z.
Though Bush Hager and Ciara both expressed amazement at some of the anecdotes Graham shared, Bush Hager pointed out that Gen Zers can also be “creative and everything” before asking, “Have you noticed that that generation is kind of scared of the phone?”
“Yes,” Graham said. “Also punctuation—they don’t care for punctuation.”
While a few fans objected to the generalizations made about Gen Z, many reacted to the clip with laughing emojis and observations of their own about the younger generation. Others wrote in to express their fondness for the show and Graham’s guest appearance.
“Another great show Jenna!!” one viewer praised.
“Lauren Graham is so unbelievable and she’s a gem for this world. 🤍,” one fan gushed.
“Love her ❤️😢,” a fan wrote as another echoed, “Love love love her ❤️.”
“With all of my heart and soul, I need y’all to get Lauren Graham on as a Jenna & Friends co-host 🗣️immediately please🗣️,” one Instagram user urged.
Another Instagram user replied to the suggestion, writing, “agreed!!!”
A third also hit reply, asking, “where do I sign this petition?”
