Jason Ritter’s Uncanny Jack Tripper Impression Will Make You Miss His Dad, John, All Over Again — Watch

Jason Ritter has a very specific impression of his late father’s iconic Three’s Company character in his repertoire.

Three’s Company premiered on ABC in March 1977, and ran a total of eight seasons. The sitcom’s original cast was comprised of John Ritter, Suzanne Somers, Joyce DeWitt, Norman Fell, Audra Lindley and Richard Kline, with Don Knotts, Jenilee Harrison and Priscilla Barnes joining the mix in later years.

Jason Ritter, who now stars on CBS’ freshman hit Matlock, was recently asked by a TikTok follower if he could do “the creep face your dad used to do, chasing the girls around the apartment on Three’s Company. That was always my favorite thing!”

Jason obliged, as seen in the video below, and his take on a huffing, puffing, pseudo-lascivious Jack Tripper is pretty spot-on:

As did its sire (the UK comedy Man About the House), ABC’s Three’s Company spawned two spinoffs: The Ropers in 1979 (starring Fell, Lindley and Jeffrey Tambor), and the 1984 sequel series Three’s a Crowd, which found marriage-minded, first-time restaurateur Jack begrudgingly “living in sin” with girlfriend Vicky (Mary Cadorette), much to her harrumphing father’s (Robert Mandan) dismay.

John Ritter died a little over 21 years ago, after falling ill during rehearsals for the ABC family comedy 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter (which co-starred Katey Sagal, Kaley Cuoco, Amy Davidson and others). Ritter was rushed to the hospital and taken into surgery, but pronounced dead hours later (due to a misdiagnosed thoracic aortic dissection). He was survived by wife Amy Yasbeck and a total of four children, including actors Jason and Tyler Ritter.
