Jason Kelce Receives Praise for His Sweet Gesture to a Young Fan: ‘A Dad First in All He Does’

Jason Kelce made a sweet gesture to a young Philadelphia Eagles fan over the weekend that left many of his own fans melting.

The touching moment occurred while the former Eagles center was attending a tailgate ahead of the Eagles’ NFC Championship game against the Washington Commanders on Sunday, Jan. 26. Kelce, who retired from the NFL last year, was contributing coverage of the pregame tradition for ESPN.

A video clip that the sports network posted on X, formerly Twitter, showed Kelce, 37, supervising as a boy wearing an Eagles jersey completed 12 repetitions on a bench press. The official X account for Kelce’s New Heights podcast also shared the clip on the social media platform.

“Yeah, baby!” Kelce exclaimed as he helped the young fan up and urged him to “show off those guns.” The podcast host then took his place on the bench press, seemingly to find out whether he could exceed the young fan’s weight lifting efforts.

“I’m gonna kick your butt now, though,” Kelce vowed before he began. Though Kelce easily completed the first 10 repetitions, he acted as though he was starting to struggle as he lifted the bar an 11th time. He yelled in mock disappointment when the boy won their competition.

“All right, you got me—you got me,” Kelce told the boy when he sat back up.

Many fans who left comments on the video dubbed Kelce a “good guy” as they praised his kind gesture.

Kelce is "One good dude,” a fan wrote as another agreed he is a “Class act. Love him.”

"Awesome such a good dude 😁💯,” one fan said of the video.

“Yeah Jason let that happen. But... awesome job in doing so,” an X user tweeted.

Kelce, who is expecting his fourth child with wife Kylie Kelce, is "a dad first in all he does!” another fan tweeted, adding, “What an adorable thing to do for that boy!”

“This is the cutest thing ever,” another fan declared.
