Iris Apatow and Sam Nivola's Relationship: All About “The White Lotus” Star and the “Love” Actress' Romance

Iris Apatow and Sam Nivola are making a bid for Hollywood's newest "it" couple.

Fans first caught wind of their romance when Apatow made an appearance on Nivola’s Instagram in April 2024. A few months later, the Unstable actress and The Perfect Couple actor were photographed for their first public appearance at the Burberry 57th Street Store reopening in New York City.

Since then, they’ve continued to support each other’s work — even if that means flying to the other side of the world. During the premiere of season 3 of The White Lotus, Nivola revealed to PEOPLE that Apatow had visited him on the show's set in Thailand for a few months.

“It was so nice of her to sacrifice that time to come be with me,” the Maestro actor said, “and I'm incredibly grateful to her."

They went public with their relationship in 2024

Nivola first hinted at their relationship in April 2024 when he shared a collection of black-and-white photos on Instagram featuring Apatow enjoying a boat day with his costars from The White Lotus, including Patrick Schwarzenegger and Catherine Hook.

The following month, The Bubble actress shared a similar set of images that included a sweet shot of her cuddling up with Nivola.

The couple confirmed their romance when they attended their first event together in October 2024.

Apatow visited Nivola on The White Lotus set in Thailand

While filming the third season of The White Lotus, Apatow visited Nivola on set in Thailand for a few months. Both of them shared snaps on Instagram of their time together, which included soaking in a natural pool, dressing up like fairies and getting cozy at a local eatery.

“I brought my girlfriend for a few months, which was amazing,” Nivola told PEOPLE at The White Lotus season 3 premiere in February 2025. “It was so great to have a taste of home because it was 10,000 miles away from home.”

Nivola joked about their status as “nepo kids”

In a January 2025 interview with British Vogue, Nivola acknowledged that he and his girlfriend both fall into the classic Hollywood stereotype of being nepotism babies.

He is the son of The Brutalist actor Alessandro Nivola and Mary Poppins Returns actress Emily Mortimer. Apatow is the daughter of This Is 40 actress Leslie Mann and prolific comedy director Judd Apatow.

The younger Nivola jokingly compared his friend group — which includes Apatow — to a “secret cabal of nepo kids who hang out in black robes.”

Apatow's mom has also weighed in on her relationship with Nivola. Mann commented a heart emoji on one of Nivola's May 2024 Instagram posts which featured photos of him and her daughter out and about in Thailand. He responded in turn with, “❤️✌️.”

They’ve walked the red carpet together

Since October 2024, Nivola and Apatow have attended several public events together. They were photographed at the Museum Of Modern Art's 16th Annual Film Benefit in N.Y.C. in October 2024, and at the Los Angeles premiere for season 3 of The White Lotus.

At that event, they posed for a photo with Apatow’s dad and Mike White, who created the series.
