Inside Céline Dion's Emotional Grammys Comeback: 'Gracious' Oprah, René-Charles All Grown Up and More (Exclusive)

"She's taking things step by step," a source tells PEOPLE exclusively about Dion, who presented album of the year amid her stiff-person syndrome diagnosis

Céline Dion is feeling the power of love.

Following her surprise appearance at the Grammys on Sunday to present album of the year, the superstar is riding high after her emotional return to the stage, a source tells PEOPLE exclusively.

"It was an amazing night for her. She's doing well, and the hope is that she can continue to do more and ease back in," says the source of Dion, who posed backstage with Taylor Swift after her record-breaking win.

Dion's public return came days after the superstar, 55, announced the upcoming release of her new documentary, titled I Am: Céline Dion, set to stream on Amazon Prime Video. Directed by Oscar-nominated documentarian Irene Taylor, the film will give fans an intimate look at her life following her stiff-person syndrome diagnosis.

"People will see everything she went through," says the source, who adds Dion is looking forward to leaning back into her music career this year. "She's taking things step by step. [Her illness] is incurable, but she's honestly doing well and looks incredible."

While backstage at the Grammys, Dion — whose son René-Charles Angélil, 23, was by her side — rubbed elbows with her fellow industry greats.

"Everybody was stopping her. She had a beautiful moment with Oprah and sang with Stevie Wonder. They were just riffing," says the source. "Victoria Monét also stopped her. Everyone was so gracious."

As she stepped out onto the stage Sunday night, Dion was greeted by a standing ovation from the star-filled crowd.

"Thank you all. I love you right back. When I say that I'm happy to be here, I really meant it from my heart," said Dion, who was diagnosed with SPS in 2022 and forced to cancel a world tour. "Those who have been blessed enough to be here must never take for granted the tremendous love and joy that music brings to our lives and to people all around the world."

While she's been largely under the radar since announcing her diagnosis, Dion made a rare public appearance last November at a hockey game in Las Vegas between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Montreal Canadiens.

On Monday Dion's stylist Law Roach posted several sweet photos from their night together, celebrating the five-time Grammy winner's big night.

"This makes me so much Joy! Not just to dress my Queen again but the fact that she's HEALTHY AND HAPPY! The UNIVERSE always PROTECTS and PROVIDES," Roach — who dressed Dion in an elegant baby pink floor-sweeping Valentino gown and coat and Tiffany & Co. jewels — captioned his Instagram post. "Thank you Celine for allowing me to share this triumphant moment with you."
