'I'll have what she's having': Meg Ryan, Billy Crystal recreate scene for Super Bowl ad

"I'll have what she's having."

Thirty-six years after the iconic line from "When Harry Met Sally..." first made audiences laugh in 1989, Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan have reunited for a Super Bowl ad.

The 60-second commercial for Hellmann's mayonnaise debuted online Wednesday ahead of Super Bowl 59. In it, the actors revive their roles as Sally Albright and Harry Burns, returning to Katz's Deli and what looks like the same table featured in the film. And just like the film, Sally appears to go crazy for what's on her plate, this time a healthy serving of mayonnaise on her sandwich.

The scene harkens back to Sally's popular fake orgasm from the movie. In the film, Harry tells Sally that he's never been with a woman who has faked an orgasm. In response, Sally spends the next minute moaning, flinging her head back, banging on the table and yelling out − proving that some women are pretty good actors.

As everyone in the deli gapes at Sally's enjoyment, a woman at a neighboring table tells the waiter: "I'll have what she's having." (Fun fact, that woman is Estelle Reiner, the mother of the film's director, Rob Reiner.)

In the new commercial, the woman at the neighboring table is actor Sydney Sweeney ("Euphoria," "The White Lotus," "Anyone But You"). After Ryan completes her moaning and groaning, Sweeney of course, says: "I'll have what she's having."

What are fans saying?

Since the ad was released on social media, "When Harry Met Sally" fans have been weighing in.

"I literally gasped. This made my heart happy," Instagram user Christina Sapone commented on Hellmann's Instagram post that features the full ad.

"Cannot tell you how happy Hellmann's made me today. Absolutely the best," Instagram user Freya Klein Kaufman commented on the Instagram post. The same day Kaufman commented again: "I can't stop watching this."

Not everyone is so thrilled.

On X (formerly Twitter), user Josh Goodman said he believes Sweeney didn't do the iconic line justice and he's confused why every reunion needs to be a commercial.

For several years, "Scrubs" stars Zach Braff and Donald Faison have appeared in T-Mobile's Super Bowl ads and in 2021, Mike Myers and Dana Carvey reunited for Uber Eats' commercial honoring "Wayne's World."

Another X user, Gina Muscato, said: "This scene in 'When Harry Met Sally' is iconic, but the Super Bowl ad spoofy doesn't hit like I wanted it to."

Where can you watch 'When Harry Met Sally'?

Viewers can stream "When Harry Met Sally" on AppleTV. The rom-com is also available to rent ($3.99) or purchase ($14.99) from Amazon Prime Video.
