New York’s Princess of Rap, Ice Spice—whose real name is Isis Naija Gaston—has been making waves since she arrived on the music scene in late 2022 with her breakout track “Munch (Feelin’ U),” which went viral on TikTok.
The Bronx native’s catchy hits, which drip with confidence and self-assurance (“She a baddie / She know she a 10”), and unapologetic personality have led her on a quick, steep climb to fame—aided by a signature look, defined by her iconic ginger curls and glitzy Y2K style.
In her own words, Ice Spice is “breakin’ records and … breakin’ news.” Among the news is speculation regarding her love life, the details of which Gaston has kept close to her chest. Even in her music, the “Princess Diana” rapper hasn’t divulged much about past romances, besides often describing the men in her life as “lames.”
She did, however, throw the public a bone in October, when she confirmed to the Los Angeles Times she was dating someone. Here’s everything we know.
More about the romance
Ice Spice confirmed to the Los Angeles Times late last year that she had a special new someone in her life. But, to maintain the mystery, she declined to reveal who, saying she wanted her fans “to keep their focus on what [she’s] here for, which is music.”
Thanks to PDA-filled photos from this month, however, fans believe Gaston’s mystery man is King Cid, whose real name is Jason Cid. In the snaps, the “Deli” hitmaker cozies up to Cid, who touches her hip in one image and hugs her in another.
