Husband, 21, details relationship with 74-year-old wife
Gary, 21, married 74-year-old Almeda in 2015, two weeks after the funeral of her son, Robert.
Now, four years on from their wedding day, he has posted a touching message on the pair’s Instagram page as a tribute to her on their fourth wedding anniversary.
The couple, who have a 53-year age difference, met when Gary was 17 years old and Almeda was 71, following his split with a 77-year-old woman.
In the couple’s home state of Tennessee, 16 and 17-year-olds can marry with parental permission.
Age-gap love story
Gary told followers told on his wedding’s anniversary “Until the day I met [Almeda] I never knew that It was possible to love someone so deeply.”
“My love for you goes beyond this world and deeper than the ocean. We've been through ups and downs together that we always overcame, looking back, it truly only made us stronger.” He continued.
“Because of you, I look forward to waking up each morning and working hard so we can achieve our goals and dreams.”
He then went on to thank her for “turning his life around”.
The pair, who describe themselves as ‘couple goals’, regularly share pictures of their lives together on social media.
Their followers also seem to be enamoured with their love story.
One woman wrote underneath their anniversary picture: “You make a beautiful couple. I found my soulmate when we were kids, we grew up together and have been married 35 years.”
“She is so beautiful. You are very lucky and are a very good man to treat her so good.” Another fan of the pair gushed.
As well as their Instagram account, the couple have a YouTube channel and a Tik Tok account where they share snippets of their lives.
Gary finished his tribute to his wife with a promise “to love you unconditionally and shower you with all the care and concern you desire until my last breath”.
