A Nutella hotel is opening, and we want one here ASAP

At risk of starting a nation-wide frenzy, we have big news for all chocolate lovers that must be delivered right now.

Your favourite chocolate treat is dipping its toes in the world of hospitality, swapping bread spread for bedspread with Hotella Nutella, the Nutella-themed hotel you probably thought only existed in your daydreams of heaven.

The pop-up hotel is a one weekend only experience that, according to the confectionary spread’s website, will include an all-Nutella brekkie prepared by celebrity chefs, and more chocolate paraphenalia than Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory.

Whoever wrote that money can’t buy you love (thank you, The Beatles) was dead-on in this example, because the only way to nab a spot is to submit a 60-second video exploring your love of the famous spread.

The competition will ensure only the most super of fans and a companion of their choice will be treated to the special experience.

There is, however, a catch in the quest for the ultimate Nutella experience.

Aussie fans left out

Aussie fans won’t be getting a look in, as the competition is only open to US citizens, and if you’re under 21, you’re out as well.

There are also only three prizes available, meaning only three fans and their closest loved ones will be chosen, and we’re betting thousands will be left crying into their Nutella jars.

Aussie fans aren’t taking the news lying down however, with many using social media to petition the company to open the same experience Down Under.

“Can you please open one in Melbourne?” one begged.

“Can Australian citizens enter?” one wondered.

So far no word on an Aussie equivalent, but for anyone with sneaky dual citizenship, or US fans who fancy their luck, here are the details.

It’s all going down in California’s Napa Valley, and entries close at 11:59 pm on December 8th.

Video entries must be 60 seconds or less, and somewhat specifically, you have to have original music, so there goes your dreams of recreating the Oompa Loompa theme song.

The fabulous weekend will take place in January, and it’s safe to say that for the winners, the first month has officially replaced the twelfth as the most wonderful time of the year.
