Horse’s Epic Zoomies Are a Whirlwind of Joy for Everyone

When animals of different species spend time together, they often pick up on each other's traits. Some cats walk on leashes alongside their canine companions when it's time for a stroll, and dogs occasionally groom themselves like their feline siblings.

In this instance, a cheerful horse acts more like a happy herding dog. And his spirited displays are pure delight!

Check out this playful Palamino's zoomies in a video from August 22:

This beautiful guy is brimming with joy! Although I've seen spicy dwarf horses and donkeys with some epic zoomies, this large horse displays his emotions in a way I haven't witnessed before. His Mom, Rachel (@myhorsewillow), humorously mentions how her sister was a bit worried that Oakley might accidentally knock her over while celebrating. I would love to watch his lively runs, but I understand her concern. When his mom cheers him on, he becomes even more excited, leaping in the air before taking another lap. His puppy pals also join in on his exuberant fun; at one point, he almost appears to herd the herding dogs. Ha! What a character he is! All animals should be fortunate enough to run freely in open spaces with the love of their people. It's a stunning sight!

Ways Horses Show Happiness

Similar to dogs, horses display their emotions in various ways. According to Equesure, not all horses are vocal, but those that are will often express their feelings with a neigh or snort. Their ears can also show their mood, and if their ears are off to the side or back (not pinned), it's a sign that they are relaxed. When standing still, a happy horse's tail is loose and straight; if they are in motion, it will swing free and evenly. Some may even display their contentment and happiness by rolling in the mud. However, knowing your horse is essential, as these behaviors can also show that they are not feeling well.

People enjoyed watching this spirited Palamino. Viewer @alisamariesilvers responded, "One reason I love horses so much is that they live in the moment! And he's loving it! I love to see this when I first wake up every day. Yay." It's a beautiful sight. One person remarked, "It brings so much happiness to see them having this much fun! The dogs are like geez, get out of the way; we have a crazy one here." Ha! They are smart enough to avoid a collision. Viewer @lakota_nannie responded, "So happy. All horses should have a human like this. They are best friends and go on all kinds of adventures." They are!

This merry fellow lifted my mood. Oakley is a terrific reminder to carve out a few moments to play each day.
