New homes with views of diving site proposed
Nine new homes with a view of the Stoney Cove diving centre could be built in Leicestershire.
An outline plan has been filed for nine houses "of varying sizes" in Spring Gardens in Sapcote.
Documents submitted to planners at Blaby District Council said a house and farm buildings at the site would make way for the development.
The road to the site from Grace Road would also be widened, according to the plans.
The home earmarked for demolition is two red brick, 1910-20s semi-detached homes which have been combined into one property, said the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
Once cleared, the site would look to the north west towards the Stoney Cove dive and swim centre, based at a 19th Century quarry site between Sapcote and Stoney Stanton, which was flooded after it closed in the 1950s.
Four objections - with details redacted by the district council - have been raised over the plans.
A decision on the application is expected by 21 January.
