Johnny Ruffo reveals brain tumour
Former Home and Away star Johnny Ruffo is recovering in hospital after undergoing emergency surgery to remove a brain tumour.
The 29-year-old, who shot to fame on The X Factor, told Be on Thursday morning: "On Sunday I went into hospital with a migraine. I had to have emergency surgery to have a brain tumour removed.
"I am on the mend and feeling positive. Keep me in your thoughts," he added.
The media personality has shared two photos of himself following the surgery, revealing a series of staples across his head.
"Some things in life really put things into persepective, hoping for a positive result, keep me in your thoughts x (sic)" he wrote to his over 194,000 Instagram followers.
Several local celebrities have reached out to the star on social media, with ex Home and Away star Esther Anderson writing: "Praying for you".
Love Child actress Sophie Hensser penned: "Sending you a whole lotta love and strength, and a speedy recovery @johnny_ruffo xx (sic)".
Former Miss Universe Australia Tegan Martin, who played on of his character's ex-girlfriends on Home and Away, told Be: "My thoughts and prayers are with Johnny. He is such a vibrant, positive person and if anyone can come out the other side of this stronger, it will be him".
Johnny shot to fame after starring on The X Factor Australia, placing third in the 2011 series.
Proving to be a triple threat, he has not only danced and sung his way into the hearts of Australians, but he's shown off his acting chops with a role on popular soap Home and Away.
