Home and Away's Penny McNamee announces shock exit from show

After five years playing beloved character Dr. Tori Morgan on Home and Away, actress Penny NcNamee has decided to leave the show.

Penny’s character, Tori, is set to tie the knot with Christian (Ditch Davey) in a fairytale Summer Bay wedding episode next Monday.

Penny told Who magazine she believes it’s the perfect send off for her character, who will get her happily ever after.

“Who doesn’t love a wedding storyline? It’s the perfect send-off for my character,” Penny told the publication saying she was “definitely holding a few real tears back on the day.”

“I’m not someone who looks backwards. I’m a real believer in everything has its season and leaving the show felt like the end of a season to me."

Penny said she’s taking some time to spend at home with her partner Matt Tooker and her kids while she takes musical theatre lessons.

Monday night's episode of the Home and Away is being touted as the 'wedding of the year' and will see Tori and Christian finally tie the knot after a tumultuous relationship.

Tori and Christian’s relationship faced plenty of tests, from Lewis' (Luke Arnold) revenge mission to the arrival of Rachel (Marny Kennedy), but fate kept the two together and saw Christian pop the question, for the second time, to the woman who stole his heart.

The Home and Away wedding episode airs 7.00pm Monday, 27 September on Channel 7
