Home and Away's Tammin Sursok hints at a possible return
EXCLUSIVE: Tammin Sursok reveals Summer Bay secrets.
Tammin Sursok first shot to fame in Australia as Dani Sutherland on Home and Away, portraying the character from 2000 to 2004. Once she moved to the US for her acting career, she ended up starring in the long-running soap The Young and the Restless.
While she picked up a Daytime Emmy Award for her role as Coleen Carlton, she only stayed on the show for two years, and has since maintained she wouldn’t appear on any other soaps in the future. In an unexpected move, she nabbed a guest part in Neighbours, appearing on Aussie screens in April 2022.
In an exclusive chat with Yahoo Lifestyle, she tells us why she changed her mind about soap operas and addresses a potential return to Summer Bay.
“I always would have said I would never have come back to Neighbours or a soap at all, but I thought it was really cool and like nostalgia for me,” she admits. “I almost had to do it to make sense of being on Home and Away.”

The Pretty Little Liars actress adds that after her Neighbours experience playing Montana Marcel, she would be open to an appearance in Summer Bay in the future.
“[I would return] for a week, sure, why not?” she declares. “I would probably give a nostalgic nod to Home and Away for sure.”
However, Tammin is not open to returning to the soap as a main cast member, as the intense shooting schedule and demands are simply too great for her as a working mum.
“I would never do it long term just because the hours are so gruelling, and I just wouldn’t spend time with my kids,” she explains.
The star, who is currently based in Nashville in the USA, plans to move back to Australia in a year to raise her two daughters, Phoenix and Lennon. This means there could be a chance Tammin may return to Summer Bay sooner rather than later.
Tammin’s Home and Away connections: ‘It’s cool’
It has been over 20 years since Tammin first joined Home and Away, but she still keeps in touch with some of the cast members.
In fact, she was supposed to reunite with Bec Cartwright, who played Hayley Smith, for a film recently. “It never happened because I ended up filming something, and I couldn’t go back, but [Bec] did the film,” she reveals.
Chris Hemsworth is arguably one of the biggest stars Home and Away has produced, and Tammin is friendly with the Thor star as well as his brothers. Although his career continues to soar, she says he is still a “lovely” person.

It also makes sense that Tammin was close with Christie Hayes during filming, as Christie played her onscreen sister Kirsty Sutherland. The pair update each other on their lives via text, and the star is grateful for the connections she made when she first entered the acting world.
“Everyone is in different places in their lives, but it’s cool when you start with people [like] that, that’s awesome,” she gushes.
