Home and Away fans stunned by explosive behind-the-scenes footage

Home and Away gave fans an insight into how big scenes, such as the recent bomb explosion, are filmed, with fans stunned by the process.

In a video shared by the show on social media, Kyle Shilling, who plays Mali in the show, is seen preparing to shoot the van explosion.

The crew set up a giant blue screen and mats on a deserted street to shoot the explosion, with Kyle using a trampoline to jump off and then land on the mats behind him. The van was also shot exploding somewhere else.

"So interesting to see how it all comes together behind the scenes," one fan commented on Instagram.

"If you lived in a small town where this many disasters happened. You would move," another fan joked.

"Are you saying it wasn't real?" someone else quipped.

Kyle spoke about shooting the scene with 7Life, revealing it was the "most full-on day" of filming he's ever experienced.

"I’m lucky I was surrounded by such an amazing crew and an awesome director," he told the publication, adding he's "stoked" Mali braved the situation "head-on".

"It really shows the character’s love for his friends. Having the opportunity as an actor to execute a performance like this is a dream come true."
