Hollyoaks' Rayne Royce makes shock confession as The Traitors star debuts

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks’ Rayne Royce will make a shock confession as The Traitors star Maddy Smedley makes her debut on the soap.

Smedley will star as talent agent Faye Fuller in a guest role on the Channel 4 soap, coming across social media influencer Rayne in scenes set to air next week.

Rayne has been in the firing line lately following her web of lies, with the latest act of deceit seeing her falsely accuse Prince of sexual assault in a bid to gain sympathy from estranged boyfriend Romeo.

The influencer will attempt to get signed by Faye’s agency, but she can hardly believe her luck as Romeo confronts Prince and Hunter at The Love Boat.

Faye is addicted to the drama and agrees to manage Rayne, much to her delight, but the joy is short-lived as she is strapped for cash.

After snapping at Lacey and Nadira, Rayne confides in Romeo that she is still traumatised from the bullying she faced in her childhood, with the shock confession leading Romeo to reiterate his devotion to Rayne.

In a bid to raise funds, he asks his father for support, but James refuses to help out much to Romeo’s annoyance and anger. With time running out, Rayne overhears Nadira referring to Rafe’s business card, and senses an opportunity to fund her next venture…

Smedley, who has previously appeared in EastEnders and Casualty, teased her guest role on the soap recently, likening Faye to some famous on-screen businesspeople.

“She's a bit more brutal than me in real life. She's like [Only Fools and Horses’] Del Boy mixed with [Dragons’ Den’s] Deborah Meaden,” said Smedley, before revealing that her experience on The Traitors prepared her for Hollyoaks.

“It almost gave me the confidence to be better at these auditions. It did make me realise as well that I'm not dying or I'm not on death row – which is how it felt when I was in there. I suppose it's made me a bit more of a go-getter and you only live once,” she said.

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
