Yahoo Lifestyle Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager Divide Fans Over Viral Hotel Bathrobe Debate
Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager are bringing yet another entertaining debate to the table: whether or not it's okay to take a hotel bathrobe.
In a new video clip from the broadcast shared via Instagram on Friday, Sept. 27, the cohosts jumped right into the topic at hand, joking about other hotel items one shouldn't attempt to take—like the desk or the bedding.
"No, you can't take the robe! Everybody knows you can't-" Kotb emphatically stated, before Bush Hager cut in, joking, "What? You're just gonna pack the comforter because it's comfortable, too?"
"Why don't you take the ice bucket? It doesn't have a sign on it," the 60-year-old comically continued.
The two besties went on about other items found in a hotel, with the former first daughter directly asking if the children's book author had ever taken anything at all from a hotel room.
Bush Hager was seemingly shocked to find out the answer, as Kotb revealed she had, indeed, left with a washcloth in the past (in addition to soap, of course).
"What?!" the 42-year-old responded at the sound of the truth. Jenna adamantly wanted to get to the bottom of the situation of when Hoda "stole a washcloth," further questioning, "You did it on purpose?"
"Yeah, I took it because something was leaking," Kotb admitted, further claiming, "I can't remember. I just wanted to wrap it up in something. I didn't have anything, so I was like, 'Oh, I'll take the washcloth.'"
In the comment section, fans had opposing opinions on what can be appropriately be taken from a hotel room.
"When I was a little girl, I took the pillows! I did replace them with our crappy pillows 😂 I only recently confessed this to my Mom - 45 years after the crime!" one shared, as another added, "I’ve taken a washcloth from a hotel because it was black and had makeup embroidered on it. It was so cute and only supposed to be used to remove make up and I just liked it. It was only one! They had tons!"
"I take the robe if the hotel wasn’t up to par lol," a third shamelessly confessed, as a fourth echoed, "💯 you can take the robe."
"Take what you can!😉," yet another proudly exclaimed.

On the other hand, another Instagram user bluntly stated, "If you take it, just expect to see your credit card charged for it. It is not complementary or intended for you to take it home."
"No it’s stealing and I’m not a thief," one clearly against the practice chimed in, with another taking their side: "Do not steal!"
Meanwhile, in someone else's opinion, it's worth the risk: "You can’t take it and not expect to pay for it. Don’t sleep on purchasing the one from The Gansevoort Meatpacking. It is the best robe ever."
Loyal viewers will undoubtedly be savoring the last several Today with Hoda and Jenna segments while they can, as Kotb made the shocking announcement earlier this week that she'll be exiting the show in early 2025.
