On this week's episode of The Baldwins, Hilaria and Alec Baldwin returned from New Mexico after the 30 Rock actor was acquitted in his trial for involuntary manslaughter in the Rust case. As the couple came back to their home and hugged their kids, they both shared how important that moment was for them.
"We made it home, we made it home!” Alec says as he returns home, hugging his kids.
Baldwin was indicted by a New Mexico grand jury in January 2024 after the gun he was holding during a 2021 rehearsal on the set of Rust discharged, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza. Baldwin maintained that he did not pull the trigger and pleaded not guilty in the case, which was dismissed with prejudice on July 12, 2024.

In a confessional, Alec shares that he felt thankful to come home and spend time raising his seven kids.
“After everything we’ve been through, I said to myself, ‘This is perfect. This is what I’m doing, is raising my kids,'" Alec says. "And I just feel like, it’s such a privilege.”
In her own confessional, Hilaria shares Alec's sentiments and reveals that before they left for New Mexico, she wrote letters to her kids in case Alec was found guilty.
“As a parent, you’re like…to keep everybody together and especially going through hard things, you keep them together," Hilaria says. "Even more. Like everybody huddle, everybody under my wings, you know?"
"And I wrote, this is going to sound stupid, I wrote them all little letters, the ones that I left here. And I hid them, and I told my friend where they were if something happened to us," adds the mom of seven.
On a previous episode of The Baldwins, Hilaria shared that when Alec first left for the Rust trial, their 11-year-old daughter Carmen was devastated.
"When Alec was charged the first time, Carmen would not be alone in a room for months. We had to move a bed into sleeping with the boys," Hilaria said in a confessional. "She has a fear of: 'Is our family going to be torn apart?' So with that, there is an awareness of what's going on."
"Carmen asked me last night. She said, 'When Daddy goes to New Mexico, do I have to say goodbye to him?' " Hilaria continued, breaking down in tears. "'Like I have to say goodbye to him for a long time? Should I say goodbye to him in a special way, like I won't see him for a long time because they're trying to take my daddy from me?'"
"And I said, 'Yeah, you should.' And she just lost it," the mom of seven said. "So you know, we've never even been away from each other for three weeks. So if he goes there, that's never even happened."
