Just when you thought you'd heard, seen, or read every love story trope (I mean, how many more friends-to-lovers stories do we really need?) Kristen Stewart's new movie Love Me comes out with something that's wholly its own. Set long after the extinction of humans, a satellite and a buoy meet online and start to fall in love. The two robots choose to live a human-like existence in a virtual space, mostly based on what they've picked up from old social media content that's still on the internet, learning everything from apartment decorating from an influencer to what date night is.
I know, I know, the idea of robots falling in love might seem kinda strange (or maybe a little scary depending on how much you believe in an AI takeover) but that's what makes this movie so interesting. So where and when can we stream Love Me? Here's everything we know so far.
Where is Love Me streaming?
There hasn't been any official announcement regarding Love Me coming to streaming just yet, but we do have one pretty big clue about where it'll likely end up. Bleecker Street, the movie's distributor, has a three-year exclusivity agreement with Showtime to stream movies there after their theatrical runs.
The one potential hiccup is that that agreement ends around March of this year, so it's hard to say whether Love Me will be included in the agreement or if Bleecker Street will give it to another streaming platform. If it does go to Showtime, you'll also be able to watch it via streaming platforms with Showtime subscriptions like Hulu or Prime.
Okay, but is Love Me on Showtime yet?
Not yet! Love Me premiered in theaters on January 31, so it'll be enjoying its theatrical run for a while before eventually going to streaming, usually a few months after it's out of theaters.
What if I don't have Showtime?
Don't worry your little robot-loving heart, you'll still be able to watch Love Me even if you don't have access to Showtime—you'll just have to shell out a little extra money. Bleecker Street's movies are always made available for video-on-demand purchase or rental, which you can do on platforms like YouTube, Apple TV, or Amazon Prime.
