Here's What the Annular Solar Eclipse Means for Your Zodiac Sign

Astrologer Kyle Thomas reveals what the annular solar eclipse will bring for each zodiac sign

Another eclipse is on its way to shake things up for the zodiac signs.

Just off the heels of the partial lunar eclipse on Sept. 17 that brought out all the emotions, the annular eclipse will be taking place on Oct. 2.

According to NASA, an annular solar eclipse takes place "when the moon passes between the Sun and Earth while it is at its farthest point from Earth." Since the moon will be further away from the Earth than it usually is, it will appear smaller than the sun and not completely cover it during the eclipse, creating a spectacular "ring of fire" in the sky.

What energy can you expect for the annular solar eclipse? Astrologer Kyle Thomas tells PEOPLE that this time will "bring a greater spotlight on relationships and often trigger significant unions or separations."

"This is the last eclipse in Libra on the Aries-Libra axis," he explains. "Since 2023, we’ve experienced eclipses on this axis, so you could be seeing a major evolution since then. Since the solar eclipse is conjunct Mercury, it will allow us to find a powerful balance between our mind and emotions and we will have a great deal of activity taking place, both personally and professionally."

Thomas also shares that since this solar eclipse is square Mars, it can "enflame emotions and tempers."

"We may become fired up about what we feel and be faced with some challenges thrust upon us," Thomas says, "We will feel an insatiable need to meet our desires, which could cause us to be impulsive, aggressive, or spontaneous. It is best to temper this energy to avoid accidents or problems."

However, Thomas also notes that since Venus will be trine to both Mars and Saturn, this time is also perfect to meet any personal and professional goals that can be met "if we seek to build for the long-term."

"Plans initiated now, especially those of a romantic or platonic level, could build beautifully with a perfect union of passion, attraction, chemistry, intimacy and longevity," Thomas continues. "The outer planets Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto will all still be in a glorious dance, revealing that if we seek to build a better life and world, we can truly make a difference."

Aries

The annular solar eclipse energy will put focus on your relationships, Aries! Thomas says that "a destined new era in regards to your relationships is upon you," which could usher in new milestones for you like "moving in, getting engaged or being wed."

If you're single, Thomas says this could be the time you meet your soulmate now or in the months ahead or could be "redirected to someone better" if you break up with a significant other. On the professional side, Thomas explains that "you may find the perfect one or make plans with an agent, assistant, attorney or accountant" at this time.

Taurus

It's time for a fresh start, Taurus! Thomas says this eclipse will bring a new start for your "health, productivity and employment." At work, you may start a new routine or project or be "pushed to find a better place that appreciates you better." Thomas also says "if you are looking for the perfect staff to work for you — or even a pet! — the universe may provide."

This time is also perfect to pursue "a new physical health endeavor, such as fitness, diet, or exercise plan" if you're looking to build healthier habits in the long run.

Gemini

Love may be in the air for you, Gemini. Thomas says that "a destined new beginning around matters of the heart has arrived" and this solar eclipse will bring "a jolt of passion to you around romance, true love, hobbies, fertility or creativity."

For the single Geminis out there, this energy could bring in a soulmate connection and for those in committed relationships, "if you have children or wish to, exciting news awaits."

And for the artistic Geminis out there, "prepare to channel the muse or debut a masterpiece of art."

Cancer

Cancer, the eclipse will usher in news in your "domestic life, home and family." Thomas says that this time can bring "a breath of fresh air that could push you to move, renovate, relocate or redecorate."

"Another way this could affect you is by bringing news around real estate," he continues. "However, this may instead turn your attention to family matters where you’ll need to step in and help them."

Leo

Leo, this eclipse season will bring in "a surge of new ideas and activity." Thomas tells PEOPLE that this eclipse will energize "your communications and intellect" and "you may now debut a significant writing, speaking or advertising initiative at this time or lock down a major contractual endeavor."

Thomas also says that "this may instead invigorate you to step out of town and travel, visiting nearby destinations or even deciding it’s time to link up with a sibling."

Virgo

Virgo, there's a big shift in your finances coming for you! Thomas says "you may suddenly be able to bring in more money due to a raise, side hustle or new job offer." However, if you're nearing the end of a "job or income stream," Thomas recommends that you "use this as an opportunity to assess your wealth and find a better employer."

Libra

Libra, you will be entering a new era in your life during this eclipse. Thomas says that "sudden new beginnings, fresh starts and opportunities will dangle before you" and you should be "encouraged you to take them."

"This is one of the most important points in your lifetime to be clear about what you want and carve out the next chapter in your destiny."

Scorpio

This is the time to relax, Scorpio. Thomas says "you’ll be feeling the urge to rest and recharge due to the solar eclipse" and this is the perfect time to "connect with a therapist, counselor or specialist to give you advice on how to streamline your life and be happier and more efficient."

"This is giving you the chance to start a fresh slate in regard to your mental health."

Sagittarius

This is the time to celebrate, Sagittarius! Thomas explains that "a glorious new beginning awaits you" and that this time "could unlock a doorway to one of your heart’s hopes and dreams."

"Not only this, but you may be able to expand your network, join communities that love and support you or even meet a platonic soulmate," he continues. "Know what fills you with joy and pursue it."

Capricorn

Capricorn, you will be entering a new phase in your career! Thomas explains that "the solar eclipse will open a doorway in regards to your career, ambitions and public recognition" and "a big opportunity to step up the ladder may manifest, especially in the form of an award, promotion, new job offer or publicity."

This is the time for you to reach for the stars.

Aquarius

Aquarius, this solar eclipse is the time to "embrace a fresh start and new horizons." Thomas says that this time "will help you step out of your comfort zone and see what else lies out there" and "you may pursue long-distance travel or even immigration."

Some Aquarians may take this time "to go back to school — or if already in school — have a major moment with their studies" and "if you’re involved with the media, publishing or international business, something fresh awaits."

Pisces

Pisces, Thomas says that this solar eclipse is going to bring "a fresh start in regards to how you share, give and receive."

"If you’re on steady ground, you’ll likely discuss deepening your rapport," he continues. "You’ll feel magnetically drawn to one another."

This time may also bring "news of a large settlement, payout, scholarship or inheritance" and this would be the perfect time to "get further involved in stocks and investments—you could win big."
