Heartbreaking new detail about the Queen's death revealed

A new heartbreaking detail about the Queen's death has been revealed, according to palace sources.

The Queen's beloved corgis were reportedly "with her in the room" and by her side when she passed away, the Daily Mail reports.

Muick and Sandy appeared at Her Majesty's funeral last week where they waited for the hearse carrying her coffin as the royal family came together for the committal service.

The Queen's beloved fell pony Carlton Lima Emma was also spotted on the grounds of Windsor Castle as the royal family farewelled the monarch.

Prince Andrew was seen with the dogs, who are now under his care, following his mother's passing after the funeral.

Muick, who is named after Loch Muick on the Queen's Balmoral property, was gifted to Her Majesty by Andrew along with another corgi named Fergus when Prince Philip was in hospital in March 2021.

Philip passed away aged 99 in April 2021, with Fergus also sadly dying a few months later.

Princess Beatrice then found Sandy as a puppy and gave her to her grandmother.

Prince William confirmed to mourners the day before the Queen's funeral that the dogs are doing well.

"I saw them the other day," he said. "They’re being looked after fine. They’re two very friendly corgis. They’ve got a good home. They’re being looked after very well."

The Queen always adored her corgis, but in the '80s she was bitten on the hand by one of her beloved pups and required stitches.

She then called in behaviour expert Dr Roger Mugford to manage the pack, which was made up of nine corgis at the time, one of which was so unruly it was sent to live with Princess Anne.

Dr Mugford advised the Queen she should have fewer dogs, with the monarch responding, "Dr Mugford, Prince Philip has already told me that I have too many dogs. If I wanted advice of that sort, I could have saved your fee."

The Queen was undeterred by the advice she received and throughout her 70-year reign, she had 30 corgis.

She bred corgis until 2015, but stopped taking on dogs in recent years as she didn't want to leave any behind, only accepting Muick and Sandy on the basis Andrew or Beatrice would have them back.
