Heart’s Ann Wilson Says She Is Finished With Chemo And Ready To Rock
Just two days after her band Heart quietly added some shows to a planned 2025 national tour, Ann Wilson announced today that she has completed chemotherapy treatment for cancer and will indeed be ready to hit the road next year.
In an audio statement posted on her Instagram page, Wilson, who performs with sister Nancy Wilson in the band known for such classics as “Barracuda,” “Crazy On You” and “Magic Man,” says, “Now I know lots of you have been wondering how I’ve been doing. So I thought it’d be best if you heard this straight from me.

“I’m doing absolutely fine now but it’s been, to put it mildly, a lot. Chemo is no joke. It takes a lot out of a person. And then there’s that two weeks of waiting around for test results, a form of mental torture. For anyone who’s been through that, I empathize big time.
“Luckily, for me, when the results finally came, they were the good kind!”
Wilson goes on to say she is “finished with chemo” and “officially ready to get ready for the tour in 2025!”
Although Wilson has not specified the type of cancer, she announced on social media in July that she had “recently underwent an operation to remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous.” She added, “The operation was successful & I’m feeling great but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventive chemotherapy & I’ve decided to do it. And so my doctors are instructing me to take the rest of the year away from the stage in order to fully recover.”
At the time of the initial announcement, Heart cancelled its Royal Flush 2024 tour dates (UK and European dates had already been cancelled due to her operation).
Wilson said today that she will undergo “maintenance” treatments but has been told “the side effects are much less severe” than the initial chemo treatments. She added, “The worst is over & I’m thankful for the efficacy of this poison – but it’s more than welcome to get the f*ck out of my body now.”
“My story has a happy ending due in part to early detection,” Wilson concludes. “My advice? Get checked regularly.”
