Is October flying by for anyone else? I can't believe we are only a couple of weeks away from Halloween, when the streets will be filled with the cutest witches, ghosts and goblins around! For my kids, I try to make the weeks leading up to Oct. 31 fun with a little spooky thrown in so that trick-or-treating isn't the only celebration. I fill our month with tasty treats no matter if we have friends coming over to sit around a bonfire, we are watching the football game or just hanging out after raking leaves. How To Make Halloween Party Mix
When I make Halloween Party Chex mix sometimes I take a combination of sweet and salty ingredients, throw them into a bowl and call it a day; but this recipe comes with a little something extra. Once you mix the Bugles, Chex cereal and pretzels together in a large bowl, you are going to pour a mixture of melted butter, brown sugar and vanilla down over the top and bake it in a 275-degree oven for about 45 minutes. That butter and sugar coating is going to get into every nook and cranny of the rice cereal and Bugles giving this Halloween Chex mix a little extra sweetness. After it cools down, add Reese's pieces and autumn candy mix to take it over the top! Store in an airtight container for snacking for days!

Tips for Making the Best Harvest Party Halloween Chex Mix
Use rice Chex cereal, corn, or wheat cereal. You can also use a combination of the three.
M&Ms could be added to, or swapped in, for Reese's pieces
Make sure you stir the mix in the oven every 15 minutes to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
If you can't find the autumn candy mix, buy candy corn and pumpkins separately.

Best Halloween Party Mix Recipe
Ingredients
1 (12-oz) box rice cereal, like Chex
4 cups pretzel twists
1 (7-oz) bag original Bugles
2 (4-oz) boxes Reese's Pieces
2 ( 9-oz) bags autumn candy mix
¾ cup margarine, melted
¾ cup brown sugar, packed
2 Tbsp vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 275.
In a medium bowl whisk together margarine, brown sugar and vanilla until combined.
In a very large bowl combine cereal, pretzels and Bugles.
Pour sauce over mix.
Stir gently, but well.
Spread evenly on a baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 until crisp and brown.
Remove and allow to cool.
Add candy and stir well.
Store in airtight container.
