Harry Styles: Aussie goes to 9 gigs in 10 months clocking 47,000km

It’s fair to say Harry Styles mania has well and truly swept Australia. The British heartthrob has been bringing unspeakable joy to ecstatic fans as he toured the country as part of his global tour.

And while he has clocked up some serious mileage in the air in the past year, one Aussie fan isn’t far behind.

London-based Rachael, 27, has seen Styles perform nine times in the past 10 months across three different countries.

“Look, I’m not a super fan, there’s people out there that are way more committed to seeing Harry than me,” she told Yahoo Lifestyle Australia.

One of those fans is likely Manekha Balgobin, who revealed to the Sydney Morning Herald she had tickets to all seven of Styles’ Australia and New Zealand gigs. But unlike Rachael, she hasn’t travelled 47,000km in the process.

Since May 2022, the primary school teacher, originally from Sydney, has seen Styles perform four times in London, twice in Manchester, once in New York, once in Sydney and once on the Gold Coast. She had tickets for Melbourne but was forced to sell due to other commitments.

Her most expensive ticket was $500 in New York however she managed to score free tickets to one of the London gigs through a competition.

Rachael reassured Yahoo she had other reasons for each trip, while managing to stay with friends and family at each destination and scored discounted flights through her flight attendant mother. But it doesn’t mean the former One Direction singer wasn’t at the forefront of her mind throughout.

"I just love what he represents. How you can be whatever you want, whoever you want and there's no judgement," she said.

And to those who may think her commitment to Styles is excessive, Rachael says not one gig is the same and she loves heading into each concert not knowing what's going to happen.

"The way he interacts with the crowd is different at every show as there's different signs each time and each country had a slightly different set list. I love seeing what he's wearing each night as he switches it up," she said.

"People go to the same sports team and nightclubs over and over again so why can't I go to the same concert over and over again?"

Seeing Styles several times on a tour is nothing new for Rachael. During his 2017 tour, she complimented her Sydney gigs with a trip to Auckland to see him and four months later saw him in Brisbane.

So is Rachael Styles' number one fan? Probably not. But you certainly can't doubt her commitment.
