Happy’s Place Taps The Conners’ Emma Kenney to Play Reba’s TV Daughter — 2025 FIRST LOOK (Exclusive)
Emma Kenney’s hot streak of iconic TV parents will continue.
Following stints as the offspring of William H. Macy’s Frank Gallagher and Sara Gilbert’s Darlene Conner, Kenney has boarded NBC’s Happy’s Place as the daughter of Reba McEntire’s Bobbie McAllister. (She replaces Elizabeth Alderfer, who was originally cast in the role.)

As part of our month-long #2025FirstLook series, TVLine can exclusively reveal the following photo of Bobbie and Gracie ahead of Kenney’s Jan. 10 debut:
Like her mother, Gracie is “no-nonsense and somewhat tough,” according to the official character breakdown. “She is in the military and has been deployed overseas. She has just gone on leave and is returning home to Knoxville to visit her mother.”
In the Jan. 10 episode, titled “The McAllister Girls,” Bobbie worries that Gracie won’t get along with her twenty-something aunt, Isabella. Meanwhile, the rest of the tavern family — which includes Gabby, Emmett, Steve and Takoda — all compete to give Gracie the best homemade gift upon her return from Qatar.
For 11 seasons, Kenney played Debbie Gallagher on Showtime’s Shameless. Late in its run, she pulled double duty, also co-starring as Harris Conner-Healy on ABC’s Roseanne revival — a part she reprised on the hit spinoff, The Conners. The latter wraps its seven-season run this spring.
Kenney’s Happy’s Place guest stint precedes The Conners’ six-episode farewell, which is expected to kick off in March. New episodes of Happy’s Place resume Friday, Jan. 3 (NBC, 8/7c).
