Guy Fieri’s Latest Career Update Brings Him Back to the Big Apple

Guy Fieri is setting out on a new restaurant venture in New York City.

The 57-year-old Food Network personality and seasoned restauranteur with 17 brands under the belt of his apron is bringing his Chicken Guy chain to Midtown, Manhattan, with the opening date fast approaching.

Chicken Guy is Diners Drive-Ins and Dives star's collaborative effort with Planet Hollywood founder and CEO Robert Earl. The fast-casual one-stop-shop for all things chicken was first established in Orlando, Fla., in 2018 at Disney Springs, part of the Walt Disney World Resort.

In the last seven years, the duo opened a total of 13 locations, not including the eight he has coming soon–one of which is opening just outside of Times Square (138 W 42nd St., only a short distance from where Guy's American Kitchen & Bar once stood) this Friday, Jan. 31, according to Eater.

Menu items vary from location to location, but according to its website, all Chicken Guy restaurants serve up "one-of-a-kind all-natural chicken tenders" that have been seasoned with "fresh lemon juice, pickle brine and buttermilk, and infused with fresh herbs."

It's not dishing out just regular kids menu-style tenders (though the brand does serve that too); customers can choose from more unique offerings like Fried Chicken Dumplings, Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ Chicken and Buffalo Mac 'N' Cheese Sandwiches, as well as rotating limited-time specials, all of which are to be paired with a wide selection of signature sauces created by the "Boss of Sauce" himself.

It wouldn't be a complete trip to Flavortown without something sweet for dessert, so the brand concocted several one-of-a-kind handspun milkshakes, including Apple Cinnamon Cereal which features pieces of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Apple Jacks cereal and Triple Double Mint made with Oreo cookies.

As for what's next, the restaurant is growing its presence with two more locations in the Las Vegas area as well as two more in Florida, one in California, one in Alabama, and one in Texas.
